Beaker
used to mix, heat, and measure liquids
Bunsen Burner
used for heating and exposing items to flame. have many more uses than a hot plate, but do not replace a hot plate
Burette
a graduated glass tube, titrations, commonly having a stopcock at the bottom, used for accurately measuring or measuring out small quantities of liquid.
Crucible
a metal container used to heat object to high temperatures
Erlenmyer Flask
a flask having a wide base, narrow neck, and conical form, convenient in laboratory experimentation for swirling liquids by hand.
Evaporating Dish
used to heat and evaporate liquids
Funnel
a tool with a wide top and a narrow bottom used to pour something into a small opening
Spatula
metal or porcelain; used to transfer solid chemicals
Mortar and Pestle
used to crush solids into powders for experiments, usually to better disolve the solids
Pipette
a slender graduated tube used in a laboratory for measuring and transferring quantities of liquids from one container to another
Ring Stand
used to hold items being heated clamps or rings can be used so that items may be placed above the lab table for heating by bunsen burners or other items
Stir Rod
used to stir things. usually made of glass very useful in the lab setting
Stopper
used to close an open container prevents liquids from evaporating sizes are 0-8
test tube brush
used to easily clean inside of a test tube
test tube clamp
used to hold test tubes when they are hot and untouchable
Test tube rack
used to hold test tubes while reactions happen in them or while they are not needed
thermometer
used to take temperature of solids, liquids, and gasses usually in degrees, celcius, but can also be degrees fareinheit
tongs
a tool that is used for gripping and holding things. such as flask, crucibles, and evaporating dishes when they are hot
Triangle
used to hold crucibles when they are being heated and usually sits on a ring stand
hot plate
An adjustable heating source used for flat-bottomed containers
watch glass
a circular, slightly concave piece of glass to hold solids while being weighed and should never be heated
Electronic balance
used to accurately weight the mass of an object in grams
Wire Gauze
is used to spread the heat of a burner flame.
Graduated Cylinders
used to measure the VOLUME of liquids accurately
Test tubes
contains liquids and solids and to hold small amount of chemical
