Our emotions or appetites that incline us to act or not to act in regard to something felt or imagined to be good or evil
How do our passions relate to the experience of the relationship between our body and soul?
Passions connect the experience of our senses with the experience of our mind.
Where do our passions flow from?
What is everyones most fundamental passion?
How did we define love in this context?
Love causes a desire for the absence good and the hope of obtaining it.
What is the relationship between love and goodness? Why is this relationship the way that it is?
Only the good should be loved. Evil will never fulfill us.
What determines whether or not our passions are either good or evil?
They become good or evil as they lead our reason and will to make a choice.
What is the relationship between our passions, our reason, and our will?
Our reason guides our passions and our will.
When a passion considered to be morally good or morally evil?
The passions are morally good when they lead to a good action, and they are morally evil when they lead to a bad action.
a judgement of reason where by a person recognizes the moral quality of an action that he is going to perform, in the process of performing or as already completed.
When does our conscience speak to us?
before we act, while we are acting, and after we act.
What does our conscience try to tell us?
The truth about good or evil.
According to Catholic teaching, how often should we follow our conscience?
What responsibility do we have with regards to our conscience?
We have to educate ourselves about what is truly good, to know what the church teaches about morality.
Define vincible ignorance. Provide the example that was given in class.
Lack of knowledge about the right thing to do that should have been overcome. Getting a speeding ticket when you should have known the speed limit.
