Any behavior that intentionally harms another another person who is phsycially absent (not physically there)
What is the definition of reactive aggression?
"hot", implusive, angry behavior motivated by a desire to hurt someone (reacting to something that someone did to you, your goal is harm that person because of that reason)
What is the definition of proactive aggression?
"cold", premeditated, calculated harmful behavior that is a means to some practical or material end (nothing personal; like some mugs someone because he just wants his money, not because he is getting revenge)
What is an example of active aggression?
Tom actually punches John
What is an example of passive aggression?
- Ashley doesn't give her boyfriend the message from work because she's mad at him for working too much
- Leaving the toliet seat up
What is an example of direct aggression?
Jack yells at Joe because he's angry at him
What is an example of indirect aggression?
Pam spreads rumors about Joe because he dumped her
What is an example of reactive aggression?
Peter hits his friend because he's angry with him
What is an example of proactive aggression?
Peter shoots a guy on the street to get his wallet
