Purpose of a warm up?
To prepare the body physically and mentally for the exercise
What does a warm up do?
Increases the heart rate, body temperature, flexibility and the minds concentration and or focus
Correct placement of body parts in relation to other body parts
The ability of the muscles to exert a force against a resistance - the use of muscle power
The way the body is held
Lengthening of one or more muscles or limbs
Sensitivity to musical elements of a dance
How and where the dancer looks
Clarity, power and the energy of the performance
Communication of the choreographic intention
How well you convey the meaning and the mood of the dance
Teacher feedback, Self-assessment and Peer assessment and feedback
