William Lloyd Garrison
Radical white abolitionist that was active in religious reform movement in Massachusetts. He started "The Liberator" in 1831 to deliver an uncompromising message: immediate emancipation. Also founded the New England Anti-Slavery in 1832

After an argument with his owner, he escaped and made his way to NY. Made his own newspaper named the, "North Star", after the star that guided runaway slaves to freedom.
born into slavery in 1800 in Southhampton County, Virginia. A gifted preacher, he believed that he had been chosen to lead his people out of bondage. Him and his group attacked 4 plantation and killed 60 white inhabitants before being captured by state and federal troops.
