insulin- secreted into the blood when pancreas islets notice high blood glucose levels - blood glucose level declines as the liver takes up glucose & stores it as glycogen - homeostasis is restoredglucagon- released into the blood by releasing cells of the pancreas when low blood glucose levels are detected by the pancreas - liver breaks down glucagon stores & releases glucose into the blood --> glucose levels increase - homeostasis is restored
