Newberry Caldera (Paulina Hills)
These are actively growing anticlinal ridges located in Washington. They include the Rattlesnake Mountains, Saddle Mountains, and Frenchmen Hills.
Yakama Fold Belt
It is a deep canyon on the Columbia River along the Oregon-Idaho border that separates Columbia River basalt from crystalline accreted terranes.
Hells Canyon and Seven Devil's Mountains
It is a forearc basin. It includes the Boring Lava Field in Portland with at least 74 vents less than 3 million years old including Rocky Butte within Portland City limits.
This is a flood basalt plateau in Western Washington and Oregon where basalt averages 1 mile thick. Most of the flows are between 16.8 and 15.6 million years old. Some of the flows reached the Pacific Ocean.
