Protection, Informing, Containing, Transportation, Preservation, Display
Packaging protects the product from damage during transit and prevents transit.
Information for buyers and users, including a picture of the product, can be printed on the packaging. some information has to be included by law.
Some products are made up of lots of tiny pieces, for example breakfast cereals. Flat-packed products must include many individual components. Care must be taken to keep these pieces together.
Designers must consider
Many products, especially foods, need to be prevented from deterioration due to temperature changes or bacteria.
Attractive and distinctive packaging enables buyers to find the product easily once it is stacked on the shelves. packaging often advertises the product.
