tropical rain forest
The largest number of species lives in this biome. The temperature remains around 30 degrees C throughout the year. This biome receives the most rainfall.
tropical dry forest
This biome contains deciduous trees. The temperature can get higher than 30 degrees Celsuis, and gets no lower than 25 degrees. The rain is seasonal.
tropical savanna
Also a type of grassland. The temperature tends to stay between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius. It rains more than deserts but less than tropical dry forests.
desert
This biome receives no more than 25 centimeters per year. The temperature is extreme, being blazing hot during the day, and cold at night.
temperate grassland
Characterized by a rich mix of grasses and underlaid by some of the world's most fertile soils. The temperature ranges from 5 to about 30 degrees Celsius. It doesn't rain a lot or too little.
temperate woodland and shrubland
Characterized by a semiarid climate. The rainfall is low, and the temperature ranges between 10 and 20 degrees C.
temperate forest
This biome contains a mixture of coniferous and deciduous trees. The temperature ranges between 0 and about 25 degrees Celsius. Rainfall is around 100 mm each month.
northwestern coniferous forest
Sometimes called the "temperate rain forest". the temperature ranges from 5 to 20 degrees Celsius. This biome contains many coniferous trees.
boreal forest
this biome is better known as the taiga. it doesn't rain a whole lot. the temperature ranges from -25 to 15 degrees Celsius.
tundra
The biome is characterized by permafrost. There is little rainfall and the temperatures just reach 5 degrees Celsius at the most. it is the coldest biome
