bones, cartilage, ligaments. Provides body framework and support. It protects and attaches muscle to bones and provides calcium storage
muscular
muscles include blood vessels and produce movement and maintain posture as well as provide heat
lymphatic
lymph, lymph vessels, lymphoid organs return tissue fluid to the blood and defend against disease.
digestive
mouth, esophogus, stomach, intestines, liver & pancreas ingest/digests food and absorbs nutrients into the blood
respiratory
air passageways and lungs are responsible for the exchange of gases between the external environment and the blood
nervous
1 of 2 regulatory systems in the body. Consists of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and sense receptors. It receives and transmits stimuli and coordinates body activity
endocrine
1 of 2 regulatory systems in the body. Consists of the pituitary, adrenal, thyroid and other ductless glands. It regulates metabolic activities and body chemistry and goes directly into the blood stream
cardiovascular
heart, blood vessels and blood. It transports material from one part of the body to another and defends against disease
urinary
kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder and urethra. It eliminates metabolic waste from the body and regulates fluid balance and acid-base balance
reproductive
testes, ovaries, and the associated accessory organs. It forms new individuals to provide the continuation of the human species
