Melt the agar deep in water bath at 100C, cool agar deep to touch in 50C water bath, use quickly or it will solidify again, turn petri dish with lid on top, gently mix media and pour onto plate, swirl petri dish to ensure uniform coverage, then let cool until solid 10-15 minutes with lid ajar
