Right Angle Theorem
if two angles are both supplementary and congruent, they are right angles
Distance
the length of the shortest path joining two objects
Distance Postulate
a line segment is the shortest path between two points
Equidistant
two points that are the same distance from a third point
Perpendicular Bisector
a line/ray/segment that bisects and is perpendicular to another segment
Equidistant Theorems
if two points are each equidistant from the endpoints of a segment, then the two points determine the perpendicular bisector of that segment

Alternate Interior Angles
a pair of angles formed by two lines and a transversal. The angles must both lie in the interior of the figure, alternate sides of the transversal, and have different vertices.
Alternate exterior angles
a pair of angles formed by two lines and a transversal. The angles must both lie on the exterior of the figure, on alternate sides of the transversal, and have different vertices.
Corresponding Angles
a pair of angles formed by two lines and a transversal. One angle must lie in the interior of the figure and the other must lie in the exterior of the figure. The angles must lie on the same side of the transversal but have different vertices.
Parallel Lines
two coplanar lines that do not intersect (segments and rays can also be parallel if they are on parallel lines)
