"When Diagnosis from the pulse one must take into account whether the patient is large, small, tall or short and whether their nature is placid " without energy " or nervous. If the pulse whether slow, rapid, big, small, long or short, accords with the patient's nature, it is normal; if it does not accord with it is abnormal. The three pulse positions tend to be of equal size. For example in a small- size person , or a woman, or a thin person the pulse is small and soft"
