muscle on ilius
Iliacus
Medial to Iliacus. long fusiform muscle located on the side of the lumbar region of the vertebral column. joins with Iliacus
Psoas major
junction of Iliac and psoas major
Iliopsoas
extensor muscle of hip. posterior view--most superficial of 3 muscles
gluteus maximus
deep to gluteus maximus
gluteus medius
name muscles of lateral rotator group that move the thigh (deep to gluteus)
Piriformis, superior gamellus, obturator internus, inferior gamellus, quadratus femoris (PSOIQ)
superior of lateral rotator group. originates at anterior part of sacrum/spinal and gluteal region and goes to attach at greater trochanter of the femur
Piriformis
arises from the outer (gluteal) surface of the spine of the ischium, blends with the upper part of the tendon of the Obturator internus (smaller of the 2 types of this muscle)
Superior gamellus
runs from obturator foramen to greater trochanter of femur
obturator internus
inferior to obturator internus--larger of the 2 types of this muscle. originates from tuberosity of ischium to the greater trochanter of femur
inferior gamellus
most inferior of lateral rotator group. strong rotator and adductor of thigh. acts to stabilize femoral head in acetabulum. goes from ischial tuberosity to femoral head
quadratus femoris
muscles of adductor group
adductur magnus, adductor longus, pectineus, and gracilis
most superior of adductor group. starts at ischial tuberosity and pubis then attaches to linea aspera on femur. DEEP compared to other adductor muscles
adductor magnus
originates just below pubic crest and inserts at the middle third of the linea aspera. superficial to adductor magnus. medial to pectineus and lateral to the gracilis
adductor longus
must anterior adductor of hip. primary function is hip flexion.
pectineus
btw. 2 adductors. originates at pubis and inserts on TIBIA. also aids in knee flexion
gracilis
he muscle assists in keeping the balance of the pelvis while standing, walking, or running. originates at iliac crests and inserts at IT Band which attaches to the tibia
tensor fasciae latae
hamstring, lateral (posterior)
1 head--ischial tuberosity
2 head- linea aspera of femur
inserts at head of fibula
(most lateral of 3 hamstring muscles)
biceps femoris
middle muscle of posterior side of thigh--connects medially. runs from ischial tuberosity to the tibia. likes superficial to the semimembranosus (middle of 3 hammies)
semitendinosus
acts as a membrane and holds the semitendinosus like a hot dog bun--medial (most medial of 3 hamstring muscles)
semimembranosus
front BIG muscle. 1 of 4 quad muscles. goes from iliac spine to the patellar tendon in the knee cap (along with the other 3 muscles of the quad). flexes the thigh at hip joint and extends the leg at knee joint.
rectus femoris
medial side of rectus femoris. extends knee. intertrochantic line down linea aspera to the patellar tendon
vastus medialis
lateral side of rectus femoris. greater trochanter of femur and linea aspera to the patellar tendon
vastus lateralis

Consider a gas in a piston-cylinder device in which the temperature is held constant. As the volume of the device was changed, the pressure was measured. The volume and pressure values are reported in the following table: $$ \begin{matrix} \text{Volume,} m^3 & \text{Pressure, kPa, when T = 300 k}\\ \text{1} & \text{2494}\\ \text{2} & \text{1247}\\ \text{3} & \text{831}\\ \text{4} & \text{623}\\ \text{5} & \text{499}\\ \text{6} & \text{416}\\ \end{matrix} $$ (a) Use linear interpolation to estimate the pressure when the volume is $3.8 \mathrm{m}^{3}.$(b) Use cubic spline interpolation to estimate the pressure when the volume is $3.8 \mathrm{m}^{3}.$ (c) Use linear interpolation to estimate the volume if the pressure is measured to be $1000 \mathrm{kPa}.$ (d) Use cubic spline interpolation to estimate the volume if the pressure is measured to be 1000 kPa.

Word elements are the keys to unlocking medical terms. Assess your knowledge of elements with this exercise. (LO 5.D)) Where is the inflammation in hepatitis? a. belly b. liver c. pancreas d. mouth e. intestine
chemistry
Group the following elements in pairs that you would expect to show similar chemical properties: I, Ba, O, $\mathrm{Br}, \mathrm{S}$, and $\mathrm{Ca}$.

Each of the four wheels of the vehicle weighs 40 lb and is mounted on a 4-in.-diameter journal (shaft). The total weight of the vehicle is 960 lb, including wheels, and is distributed equally on all four wheels. If a force P = 16 lb is required to keep the vehicle rolling at a constant low speed on a horizontal surface, calculate the coefficient of friction which exists in the wheel bearings.
