Communism and Religion

Diffusion of Religion
Someone who diffuses religions are called missionaries. The definition of cultural diffusion is what happens when the cultural beliefs and social activities are spread through different ethnicities, religions, nationalities, etc. An example of cultural diffusion is the tradition of the German Christmas pickle becoming popular in the United States.

Then during the 6 day war Israel got even more land, Gaza Strip, West Bank, Golan Heights, Sinai Peninsula. Then on Yom Kippur, the same countries try to get back there land and lost again.

Plessy v Ferguson/Brown v Board

Brown v Board: a landmark United States Supreme Court case in which the Court declared state laws establishing separate public schools for black and white students to be unconstitutional.
Plessy v Ferguson and Apartheid are very similar because of discrimation. "seperate but equal", and white minority over black minority. Apartheid ended with Nelson Mandela.

Universalizing: A religion that attempts to appeal to all people, not just those living in a particular location, recruits non-members ex: Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Eastern Orthodox
Ethnic:A religion that is accepting only one religion and is not looking for universalizing religion
ex: Hinduism, Chinese religions, Judaism.
US census Bureau race categories
Asian, white black, native american or other. Where we count people, for federal aid. Hispanic is not considered a race.
USA ethnic Groups
White American, Black or African American, Native American and Alaska Native, Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander, and people of two or more races. You find hispanics in the South due to the border being close to the border of Mexico. You will have cubans in florida because it is close to Cuba. Chinese come from China and live in the West due to approximately close to China.
Yugoslavia is communist between WW1 and WW2. Serbs, Muslims, and Croats hated each other but were kept in line by a strong dictatorship. Communism collapsed and ethnic groups fight for power and control. Mainly the Serbs are ethnic cleansing the muslims and some croats. Thousands are tortured and killed. A peace agreement is made by the US called the Dayton Accords. The UN and US send in peacekeeping people. A government is created that represents all three ethnic groups.
