PLTW: IED Types of Lines
Terms in this set (8)
Lines that define the parameters of a dimension in a drawing. They're the lines that go between Extension Lines with arrows on the ends with numbers of the dimensions in the middle of them.
Parallel lines that go off a drawing that have a dimension line across them.
Lines that you cant see normally in a view of an object that are represented with dotted lines that show where the edge of that part of an object would be.
Lines that define the edges of an object. These are the thicker, finalized lines in a drawing.
Light "sketching lines" that are used to lightly draw the object before going over them with a darker thicker line in the finalized drawing (Visible/Object/Drawing lines).
Lines that indicate dimensions of arcs, circles, etc that go off the object at a 45 degree angle and then have a line going off that to the left with an arrow at the end with numbers of the dimension off of them.
Used to show what the inside of an object looks like in a "slice". (Think of breaking a cookie in half and then where you broke it would be the line representing the drawing of what that inside of the side of the cookie looks like.)
Lines that go through the middle of the drawing that represent the center of the object. (Note this is NOT a center mark represented by a + sign, center lines are actual lines going off of that center mark but not connected to it.)
