What happens in acute Hemorrhagic Anemia?
fluid shifts from interstitial to intravascular space, first CBC sign is lowered RBCs.
What is Hemolytic Anemia?
premature lysis of RBCs, hematopoietic activity increase, causes immature RBCs
What are some symptoms of Iron Deficiency?
mild-moderate fatigue, weakness, activity intolerance, dyspnea, pica
What are some signs of Iron Deficiency?
brittle spoon shaped nails, chilosis, smooth sore tongue, no nervous system symptoms
B-12 Deficiency s/sx?
similar to iron deficiencies, glossitis, paresthsias
Aplastic Anemia causes?
exposure to radiation, certain chemicals, drugs, viruses, autoimmune process
What are manifestations of Aplastic Anemia?
RBC loss, fatigue, pallor, dyspnea, headache, ultimately tachycardia, heart failure, bleeding bruising, fever, sore throat, frequent infections
