This drug is more commonly known as marijuana. It comes from the cannabis plant, used as a psychoactive drug and sometimes medicine. The active ingredient is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The side effects include feelings of euphoria, general change in mood, increase in appetite, decrease in short term memory, dry mouth, impaired motor skills, red eyes, anxiety and paranoia. It exhibits a mixutre of stimulant, depressant and hallucinogenic properties. While cannabis is less physically addictive, it has been known to cause psychological dependence. These are powerful drugs that cause hallucinations, making the user to see, hear, smell, taste or feel things that are not real. They can cause changes in thought, emotion and consciousness as well as paranoia and sleeplessness. They are in drugs such as mushrooms, acid (LSD), ketamine, PCP (Angel Dust), dextromethorphan (DXM cough suppressant) and peyote (cactus). The drugs themselves are not likely to be deadly, but the actions one takes when on these types of drugs can be dangerous and lead to life-threatening behaviors.
