the overall shape and dimension of the drawing surface.
Scale:
the size of an image or object when compared to our own human size Proportion refers to size relationships, such as comparing height to width.
Line:
Line: a point in motion; series of adjacent points; a connection between points; an implied connection between points.
Shape:
Shape: form created when a line connects to enclose an area, an area of color or texture is defined by a clear boundary, or an area is surrounded.
Value:
the relative degree of lightness and darkness.
Texture:
the surface quality of a two-dimensional shape or three-dimensional volume.
Color:

Space:
the distance between images or points in a design.
Contour Line:
lines (varying in quality) that define the external and internal edges of form and could create an illusion of volume.
Cross-Contour Line:
lines that move across the surface of form and emphasize volume.
Positive Shape:
the dominant shape or figure in a figure-ground relationship
Negative Shape:
any clearly defined area around a positive shape; the recedi ing shape in a figure-ground relationship: a shape created through the absence of an object rather than through the presence of an object
Symmetrical Balance:
created when shapes are mirrored on either side of an axis, as in a composition that is vertically divided down the center.
Asymmetrical Balance:
an equilibrium among visual elements that differ in size, number, weight, color or texture
Emphasis:
special attention given to some aspect of a composition, which gives it prominence
Rhythm:
the repetition of multiple parts in a composition to create a pattern of positive or negative, or other contrasting forces
Foreshortening:
A visual compression of shape to create the illusion of depth.
