Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey, either of sin leading to death or of obedience leading to righteousness?
For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.
Do not be misled: God is not one to be mocked. For whatever a person is sowing, this he will also reap; 8 because the one sowing with a view to his flesh will reap corruption from his flesh, but the one sowing with a view to the spirit will reap everlasting life from the spirit. 9 So let us not give up in doing what is fine, for in due time we will reap if we do not tire out.
1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee from sexual immorality! Every other sin that a man may commit is outside his body, but whoever practices sexual immorality is sinning against his own body.
Anyone committing adultery with a woman is lacking good sense; The one who does so brings ruin on himself.
Therefore, God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, so that their bodies might be dishonored among them. 25 They exchanged the truth of God for the lie and venerated and rendered sacred service to the creation rather than the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen. 26 That is why God gave them over to uncontrolled sexual passion, for their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; 27 likewise also the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full penalty, which was due for their error.
1 Timothy 6:9, 10
But those who are determined to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge men into destruction and ruin. 10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains.
and I will say to myself: "You have many good things stored up for many years; take it easy, eat, drink, enjoy yourself."' 20 But God said to him, 'Unreasonable one, this night they are demanding your life from you. Who, then, is to have the things you stored up?' 21 So it goes with the man who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich toward God."
Proverbs 23:29, 30
Who has woe? Who has uneasiness? Who has quarrels? Who has complaints? Who has wounds for no reason? Who has bleary eyes? 30 Those lingering long over wine; Those searching out mixed wine.
For in the end it bites like a serpent, And it secretes poison like a viper.
My son, if sinners try to entice you, do not consent. 11 If they say: "Come with us. Let us set an ambush to shed blood. We will lie hidden, waiting for innocent victims without cause. 12 We will swallow them alive as the Grave does, Whole, like those going down to the pit. 13 Let us seize all their precious treasures; We will fill our houses with spoil. 14 You should join us, And we will all share equally what we steal." 15 My son, do not follow them. Keep your feet off their path, 16 For their feet run to do evil; They hurry to shed blood. 17 It is surely in vain to spread a net in full sight of a bird. 18 That is why these lie in ambush to shed blood; They lie hidden to take the lives of others. 19 These are the ways of those seeking dishonest profit, Which will take away the life of those who obtain it.
Genesis 34:1, 2
Now Diʹnah, Jacob's daughter by Leʹah, used to go out to spend time with the young women of the land. 2 When Sheʹchem, the son of Haʹmor the Hiʹvite, a chieftain of the land, saw her, he took her and lay down with her and violated her.
The young man did not delay in doing what they asked, because he found delight in Jacob's daughter, and he was the most honorable of the whole house of his father.
1 Corinthians 15:33
Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits.
2 Chronicles 19:1, 2
Then King Je·hoshʹa·phat of Judah returned safely to his own house in Jerusalem. 2 Jeʹhu the son of Ha·naʹni the visionary went out to meet him and said to King Je·hoshʹa·phat: "Is it the wicked you should be helping, and is it those who hate Jehovah you should love? Because of this the indignation of Jehovah is against you.
Now the serpent was the most cautious of all the wild animals of the field that Jehovah God had made. So it said to the woman: "Did God really say that you must not eat from every tree of the garden?" 2 At this the woman said to the serpent: "We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden. 3 But God has said about the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden: 'You must not eat from it, no, you must not touch it; otherwise you will die.'" 4 At this the serpent said to the woman: "You certainly will not die. 5 For God knows that in the very day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and bad."
So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.
Furthermore, God made you alive, though you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you at one time walked according to the system of things of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience. 3 Yes, among them we all at one time conducted ourselves in harmony with the desires of our flesh, carrying out the will of the flesh and of our thoughts, and we were naturally children of wrath just as the rest.
Pride is before a crash, And a haughty spirit before stumbling.
And you say: "How I hated discipline! How my heart despised reproof!
So they gathered together against Moses and Aaron and said to them: "We have had enough of you! The whole assembly is holy, all of them, and Jehovah is in their midst. Why, then, should you exalt yourselves above the congregation of Jehovah?"
These men are murmurers, complainers about their lot in life, following their own desires, and their mouths make grandiose boasts, while they are flattering others for their own benefit.
3 John 9
I wrote something to the congregation, but Di·otʹre·phes, who likes to have the first place among them, does not accept anything from us with respect.
Whoever isolates himself pursues his own selfish desires; He rejects all practical wisdom.
Come, now, you who say: "Today or tomorrow we will travel to this city and will spend a year there, and we will do business and make some profit," 14 whereas you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. For you are a mist that appears for a little while and then disappears. 15 Instead, you should say: "If Jehovah wills, we will live and do this or that."
1 John 2:15
Do not love either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him;
1 John 5:19
We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.
Adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is making himself an enemy of God.
