Assertive style

Fear-based behavior is an emotionally dishonest, self-defeating type of behavior. Looks the other way, avoids conflict, and take what seems to be the easiest way out. Never full participants on the nursing team

Logical but untrue reason is offered as an excuse for the behavior

"Troublemaker", "manipulator", and "uncooperative"
Compensation
Covering for real or imagined inadequacies in his or her work by developing what he or she considers desirable traits of observation, listening, and reporting
Problem solving steps
Define the problem, decide on a goal, choose alternatives, try out the alternatives, evaluate the effectiveness of your approach, and repeat the process if the solution is not effective
Manipulation
Has a negative connotation in our society, in itself is not a maladaptive behavior. Some cultures teach and accept in a poseful way of meeting one's needs
When is manipulation considered maladaptive?
Feelings and needs of others are disregarded, other people are treated as objects to fulfill the needs of the manipulator
Seducer
Initiates a relationship with someone
Passive aggressive manipulator
Focuses on the other person's weaknesses
Divide-and-conquer manipulator
Confides half-truths, rumors, gossip, and innuendo
Workplace violence
Employee, domestic, property, and commercial
Employee violence
Directed toward supervisors or management
Domestic violence
Issue is personal, but the violent act takes place in the workplace
Commercial violence
Employee engages in activities such as stealing from employers. Violence may ensue
Property violence
Directed against the employee or employer's property
Sexual harassment
Abuse of power. Not about sex or passion
