First contact
The edge of the moon starts to overlap the edge of the Sun and the eclipse begins!
Second contact
The moon covers the entire disk of the sun and the total eclipse begins.
The max phase of a total solar eclipse. The sun is completely covered during this phase.
Third contact
The moon moves away from the sun and parts of the sun's disk reappear.
Fourth contact
The moon stops covering the sun and the eclipse ends.
