LEVELS OF ORGANIZATION

Life can be viewed from different levels. This is a list of the levels of organization from the most complex (biosphere) to the foundational particles of life, atoms and molecules.

ECOSYSTEM

Populations that live together in an area

Individual living thing

Group of similar cells that perform the same function.

ABIOTIC
Any nonliving component in an environment; soil, water, sunlight
BIOTIC
Any living factor in an organisms environment

A tiny cell structure that carries out a specific function within the cell
ORGAN
collection of tissues that carry out a specialized function of the body
ORGAN SYSTEM
group of organs that work together to perform a specific function
