Programs hosted by a TV host featuring guests who talk about their lives. Ex. Oprah, the Ellen Show, The Late Night Show with David Letterman,
a continuing weely TV show that has the same characters. This includes comedy series, sit com series, dramatic series, detective series etc.
a telethon Type 1
This type of show aims to raise funds ( money) for a public television station ( i.e. not supported by government, or a commercial network. ( Ex. PBS in the U.S.)

A type of show that aims to raise money for charity by persuading members of the public to phone in and donate money. ( Ex.

Show about different aspects of nature and science ranging from volcanoes and hurricanes to effects of global warming on the environment. ( Ex. The Nature of Things)

A show about wild animals or pets, often hosted by a well-known personality ( i.e. Animal Rescue, The Really Wild Show)
a detective series
a series in which one or two people work together to solve a mystery ( normally a murder) in each episode.

the first episode of a TV series. This is usually longer than other shows in the series and is often broadcast to see if people will like it.
