Primary program of the US for rebuilding and creating a stronger economic foundation for the countries of Western Europe. The initiative was named Secretary of State George Marshall and was largely the creation of state department officials.

German statesman who had a political career of 60 years, and noted for his first chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Served as prime minister of Portugal. Also acting president of the republic, and founded and led the Estado Novo.

A Paris based international economic organization of 30 countries. Most members were high0income economics with a high human development index and are regarded as developed countries.
