deductive reasoning
A logical process by which one specific conclusion is found from several general premises.
transversal
A line which intersects one or more other lines.
corresponding angles
The angles that are in "the same position" relative to a transversal line. If you push the parallel lines together they would overlap each other. They are congruent.
alternate interior angles (AIA)
The angles on opposite sides of the transversal line and between the two parallel lines. They are congruent: (5 & 6 are AIA; 7 & 8 are AIA)
