What are Ecosystem Services? Provide two examples and explain how these services benefit people.
Ecosystem Services are the processes by which the environment produces resources that we often take for granted such as clean water, timber, and habitat for fisheries, and pollination of native and agricultural plants. One example would be cycle and move nutrients and this service benefits people because cycles and move nutrients which means that people are moving to new areas for their nutrients and not destroying that one area; it keeps the from dying and that means people could always come back. Another example would be generate and preserve soils and renew their fertility and this helps people because it keeps their soil good so that they can keep growing crops that they need.

One organization is Alliance to Save Energy which is a group of industrial, technological, and energy corporations that support energy efficient practices. Explain how increased energy efficiency is beneficial.
Increased energy efficiency allows for the same level of service to be achieved with reduced energy use. Energy use is associated with greenhouse gas emissions, so by decreasing energy use greenhouse gas emissions will be decreased as well. Nonrenewable resources that are used for energy production, such as coal and oil are used at a slower rate with greater energy efficiency as well. Increased energy efficiency results in lower costs for energy consumers.
