how to config UDLD
SW1(config)#udld Aggressive enable message
UDLD can be enabled and disabled on a global and per-port basis.
We call this mode "aggressive" for two reasons.
First, the port is shut down after eight missed messages, as opposed to Normal mode, which doesn't shut the port down under any circumstances. Second, a UDLD message is sent every second once a possible unidirectional link is detected.
When UDLD runs in Normal mode,
it gives us a syslog message to let us know about the problem.
Detecting Unidirectional Links With UDLD
A UDLD enabled port sends a UDLD frame across the link every 15 seconds. If something comes back, we have a bidirectional link and all is well. If nothing comes back, we have a unidirectional link.
