Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere allows the sun's rays to enter, but prevents much of the infrared radiation from escaping. The radiation builds up heat instead in the greenhouse gases. This warming is called the "greenhouse effect", because the same sort of thing happens in a greenhouse
How is the ozone formed
The sun's uv rays strike molecules of 02 which break apart. The single atoms of oxygen bond with 02 molecule to make ozone03. It then absorbs much of the sun's damaging uv radiation.
