A British passenger liner that was sunk by Germans in 1915. 128 Americans on board were killed. Wilson gave a strong warning to Germany.
Pledge made by Germany in 1916 to US not to sink US passenger ships, and only sink US merchant ships that had weapons. Pledge was broken a year later.

Telegram form the German foreign minister to the German ambassador in Mexico that was intercepted by British agents. The telegram proposed an alliance between Mexico and Germany and promised that if the war w/the U.S broke out, Germany would support Mexico in recovering lost territory in TX, NM, and AZ.
