-acral sites develop papules/plaques that develop into painful ulcers, septic arthritis, osteo, pulmonary nodules may occur
-if infection with m haemophilum is suspected, lab must be notified to prepare mediums for growth- difficult to isolate
-tx 1 year of cipro, clarithro, amikacin, rifampin, rifabutin
