What are dependents in a population?
People under the age of 15 and older than 65, they are considered dependents because they do not produce goods or services but consume them.
Exponential Rate
A rate that is a percentage of a given number.
Arithmetical Rate
A rate that is a constant number added to a given number.
Thomas Malthus's Theory
A theory created by a British scholar stating that population growth is outgrowing food production and we will soon run out of food. The thoery was correct about the rate of population growth to food production but did not factor in the agricultural advancements we were soon to make to feat these challenges.
