Gross muscle parts
-Origin: stays stable when muscle contracts
-Belly: shortens, where muscle lays
-insertion: moving part
-Antagonist: do opposite action
-Synergists: muscles that work together and do the same action
-Isometric contraction: muscle contracts (is stimulated or excited), but doesn't shorten
-Isotonic contraction:: muscle is stimulated and changes length.
-concentric contraction: muscle shortens when it fires
-eccentric contraction: stimulates muscle, but lengthened.
-originate on axial skeleton and insert on scapula
-often cause movement at sternoclavicular joint
3. Serratus anterior "boxer's muscles"
-Originate on scapula on as axial skeleton and cause movement of humerus.
