Biophysical profile (BPP)
Profile consists of a group of five fetal assessments: fetal heart rate and reactivity (the NST), fetal breathing movements, fetal body movements, fetal tone (closure of the hand), and the volume of amniotic fluid (AFI).
Percutaneous umbilical blood sampling
Procedure serves to obtain a fetal blood sample from a placental vessel or from the umbilical cord; this may be used to give a blood transfusion to an anemic fetus.

is done at 15-17 weeks.
