P1 - Pressure of gasses
Terms in this set (5)
How to gas particles cause pressure in a vessel?
By colliding with the vessel walls
What will happen if you increase the number of particles in a sealed container?
The more particles there are, the more often they will collide with the walls, and so the pressure will increase
The pressure a gas exerts on its container depend on TWO things, what are they?
How often they hit the walls
How fast they hit the walls
What will happen to the pressure if you heat a sealed container?
The particles will hit the walls harder and more often, so the pressure will increase
What will happen to the pressure if you cool a sealed container?
The particles will hit the walls less hard and less often, so the pressure will decrease
