Describe the following about genetic engineering

Describe the "slash and burn" technique in agriculture. Why can this become a problem?
Slash and burn is cutting down vegetation in piles and then burning it in order to enrich with calcium and magnesium. This could be a problem because deforestation may cause a loss of nutrients and proper soil.
What is desertification? Why is this a problem?
Desertification is the transformation of arable land to desert or unproductive land due to climate land or destructive land use. It is a problem because there becomes less soil to grow crops on.
