Small opening in the lens that controls how much light hits your sensor/film (think of the iris in your eye)
Aperture measured by F/stop values.
The smaller the F/stop is, the larger the opening, and vice versa.
Smaller apertures allow less light, resulting in darker pictures. Larger apertures allow more light, resulting in lighter pictures.
controls depth of field.
Low F/stop values = Shallow DoF
High F/stop values = High Dof
