Remember that % means "out of 100"

Find the percentage of the quantity.
Add it on.
Decreasing by a percentage
Find the percentage of the quantity.
Take it off.
Expressing quantities as a percentage
If 3 out of 4 teachers are female, then convert three quarters into a percentage
