Direct Observation

A guess of a number, based on assumptions.
Sampling
Counting the number of a smaller area within a larger area.
Birth Rate
Number of births in a population within a certain amount of time.
Death Rate
Number of deaths in a population within a certain amount of time.
Immigration
When members move Into (IN) a population.
Emigration
When members leave (EXIT) a population.
Population Density
The number of members of a population within a certain area.
Limiting Factor
A factor that causes a population to decrease. (Ex: Scarcity of Food, Water, Space, or bad weather)
Carrying Capacity
The largest population that an area can hold.
