NW Territory was divided into 5 territories, territories would be divided into ranges, ranges would be divided into 6mi X 6mi called townships, townships would be divided into 1mi X 1mi called sections, it was $2 an acre, 4 sections were reserved for government, section 16 was reserved for education
what was the North Western Ordinance?
each territory is governed by a governor and 3 judges are appointed by congress, when the population reaches 5K free males who were 21 or older could elect a legislature and send someone to congress, when the population reaches 60k men, women, children they could write a constitution and were recognized as apart of the original 13

by 1785 homes and farms were being foreclosed, unemployment was at an all time high, and business were failing.

the poor were angry at the rich for not helping them in massacdusettes, Americans begin to kill other Americans.
