vertical angles
a pair of non-adjacent angles formed when two lines intersect. They share a vertex but not common rays.

Transversal
a line that intersects two or more other lines to form eight or more angles.
Alternate Exterior Angles
angles on the opposite sides of the transversal line and outside the parallel lines.
Alternate Interior Angles
angles on the opposite sides of the transversal line and inside the parallel lines.
Corresponding Angles
angles that are at the same location at each intersection on the figure.
