literature expressed in a rhythmic form. It uses figurative language and other techniques to express ideas, feelings, and stories.
a line or group of lines in a poem separated by extra white space. Stanzas are like a paragraph to a poem.
a sensory response (see, hear, feel, etc) that the language of a poem produces in the mind of a reader.
allows for strong ideas to be expressed using carefully chosen words. (a lot of meaning in only a few words.)
