Discrimination against Jews. Can be based on the hatred against Jews because of their religious beliefs or their group membership (ethnicity), but also an incorrect belief that Jews are a race. Loud, talkative, likes to mess with Peter. Later becomes more sophisticated and starts the date Peter. Does not have a good relationship with her mom because her mom always compares her to Margot. Anne prefers her dad. She thinks that he can do everything on her own. She likes to start stuff. She is creative and writes a lot in her diary. Energetic.Tries to make the best out of everything.
Kind and lets lots of other Jews to come live with them in the secret annex. Tries to make everything work and is generous.

Compares Anne to Margot a lot. Does not have a great relationship with Anne.

Has a great relationship with both her parents. "Perfect Child" Doesn't make noise and doesn't mess with Peter. She also doesn't start stuff with other people.
Nice German who helps her fellow Jewish friends so the Nazis won't get them. Hides them in a secret annex. Brings the Jews books, food, and other little things.
He is annoyed by Anne and just wants to be left alone. Later starts to date Anne. Shy and awkward.

Also helped the Jews hid from the Nazis. Brought the Jews food, books, etc. Kinda and risking his life.
Stuck up and acts all rich and fancy. Doesn't want to give up her jacket because it's the only left connecting her to her dad.
Mrs. Van Daan
Greedy and wants all the food for himself. Thankful that the Franks let them stay in the secret annex. Friends with Mr. Frank. Wants to give up stuff so he can have money to get more items and food.
Mr. Van Daan
A dentist who gets to hide with the Franks and Van Daans in the secret Annex. First liked Anne and told her a lot of his stories. Later got annoyed with Anne because she was screaming during the night because of her night terreros.
