Computer case
The computer case houses all of the computer components
CPU (Central Processing Unit)
The brain of the computer, the CPU performs the arithmetic, logical, and input/output operations of the system
Hard drive
The hard drive stores data and programs permanently, when the computer is turned on and off
Case fan
The case fans cools the case, keeping the computer at a safe and workable temperature
Power supply
The power supply, powers the computer components
RAM (Random Access Memory)
RAM stores data and allows the computer to load information quicker as it remembers it
Graphics card
The graphics card takes binary information from the CPU and translates it into a picture
The mother board is the main circuit board in the computer, all other components are linked to it. It allows the computer to run
CPU compound
A CPU compound is a thermal compound that dissipates heat and directs it to the heatsink
CPU heatsink
The CPU heatsink cools the CPU
Sound card
The sound card allows computers to make complex noise, without a sound card a computer can only make a beep noise
Networking device
A network device, or network card allows a computer to connect to a network
TV card
TV cards allow a computer to receive television signals
Expansion card
An expansion card allow a computer to have a new facility or more memory
Fan controller
Fan controllers control how fast the fans spin and how cool the computer is

Case lights light up the case to make the case look nice, they provide no performance enhancement
Operating system
An operating system allows a user to use a computer
System security software
System security software prevents attacks, such as virus' or malware attacks, which aim to view information or plant harmful software which will harm a computer system
DVD Playback software
DVD playback software allows users to watch DVD's on their computer
DVD/CD Burning software
DVD/CD burning software allows users to burn their own, homemade CD's and DVD's
3D glasses
3D glasses allow for 3D viewing
A keyboard allows users to input, characters and commands into the computer
A monitor all a user to see what a computer is displaying
A mouse is the way users navigate their way round a computer
A printer allows users to put the contents of a document onto paper
Webcams allow users to take photos of themselves, and with the appropriate software and film
Headphones are a way of listening to audio files
External storage devices
A portable storage device allows users to store data on an outside of their computer
