Organized Labor Union
A group that workers belong to in order to work together to protect themselves and fight for better working conditions.
American Federation of Labor: represented skilled workers and founded by Samuel Gompers.
Works would stop working until their demands were met or compromises were made.
Took place at a Carnegie Steel Mill in Pennsylvania: a gun battle killed workers during a strike. This hurt organized labor unions
