How did mass production change the way people worked & lived?
Mass production created more jobs for people who did not have a lot of skills. It created jobs in mills and factories so people spent less time at home with family, but they also had a little more money to spend. Some people became wealthy.
What effect did the cotton gin have on farming in Tennessee?
Because farmers could clean more cotton, they wanted to grow more. They needed more land to do that and so many people purchased and settled land in West Tennessee because it was good for growing cotton. This also brought more slaves to Tenneessee, particularly West Tennessee.
