Quota Acts of the 1920s
Severely limited immigration, especially "New" immigrants. Reversed a trend of virtually unlimited immigration.
Government policy of encouraging immigration from Mexico during WWII to work, especially on farms.
Immigration Act of 1965
Abolished the quota system from the 1920s, benefitted immigrants from Latin America and Asia.
