two dorsal arms of spinal gray matter that recieves sensory information and contain sensory fibers and interneurons
ventral horns
two ventral projections of the spinal gray matter that contain cell bodies of motor neurons of somatic nervous system(voluntary)
white matter
whitish nervous tissue of the CNS consisting of neurons and their myelin sheaths
autonomic nervous system
part of peripheral nervous system of vertebrates that controls involuntary actions of the smooth muscles, heart and glands
parasympathetic division
The branch of the autonomic nervous system that generally conserves bodily resources & maintains body functions
sympathetic division
the part of the autonomic nervous system that arouses the body to deal with perceived threats; fight or flight
