Character
Main character
Protagonist
A character or force in conflict with the main character
Antagonist
A struggle between opposing needs, desires, or emotions within a single character
Internal Conflict
A struggle between a character and an outside force
External Conflict
The narrator (story teller) is involved in the story and uses "I" to unfold the plot.
1st Person POV
The narrator tells the story to another character using "you"
2nd Person POV
speaker narrates the story using "he, she, they"
3rd Person POV
A comparison without using like or as
Metaphor
giving a non-living thing a human characteristic.
Personifacation
exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken seriously.
Hyperbole
a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with the other.
Idiom
What the text is mostly about.
Main Idea
it's a detail that supports the passage.
Supporting Detail
It's what the author made it for.
Authors Purpose
To state or assert that something is the case.
Claim
A statement or theory that is put forward.
Thesis
include all the components of a story or article.
Text Features
a conclusion reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning.
Infrence
something that proves your reason.
Support
grow or cause to grow and become more mature.
Develop
Propose a solution, hypothesis or other possible answer.
