dysnea control postures: when sitting, bend forward slightly at the waist while supporting UB by leaning the forearms on the table. When standing, lean forward and prop body on a counter.
pursed lip breathing: prevent tightness, increase use a diaphragm. purse your lips, slowly exhale through pursed lips feeling resistance, in hale through nose. exhale twice as long as inhale.
diaphragmatic breathing: increased use of diaphragm to improve chest volume. place a paperback book on stomach below thorax. lie on back and inhale slowly to make book rise.
desensitization: following these dyspnea control techniques, managing anxiety, and monitoring breathing helps them lose anxiety
